Discount codes for Shopify that skip sale items and anything you exclude, never touch the package protection fee, tell a shopper why a code doesn’t apply, and give each email its own one-time codes.
CH 01 · The code
Only what you meant to discount.
One code type with the exclusions stores ask for, running inside Shopify's checkout on every Shopify plan.
Percent, amount or volume tiers
Any percentage or amount, off the order or off each item that qualifies. Or volume tiers: 2 for $50 and 3 for $70, or $30 each dropping to $25 each at 3 or more.
Skips sale items
Tick one box and anything already marked down (its compare-at price is above its price) keeps its sale price and nothing more.
Collections, tags and products
Limit a code to some collections, or leave out collections, product tags and single products.
Free shipping too
Add free shipping to the same code, so one code can carry the whole offer.
Protection is never discounted
Package protection lines are always left at full price, whatever the code says, so your protection provider is paid its full rate. Gift cards are never discounted either.
Made where you make discounts
Create codes on Shopify's own Discounts page and pick Covr Discount as the type. Dates, usage limits and combinations are Shopify's own settings.
CH 02 · The reason
A clear answer when a code doesn't apply.
When a shopper enters a Covr code that would take nothing off their cart, Shopify's own message only says the code isn't working. Covr Discount says why, so the shopper doesn't give up or email you.
Sale items get “doesn’t apply to sale items.” Any other exclusion gets “doesn’t apply to the items in your cart.” When Covr isn’t sure, it leaves the code to Shopify, so a code that would work is never turned away.
CH 03 · Email codes
Every email gets its own codes.
One-time codes for your welcome, abandoned cart and win-back emails. Each one discounts exactly like the Covr discount it belongs to, protection rules included.

Klaviyo connects with a private key that can only manage coupons. For any other email or SMS tool, download the codes as a file.

Choose a code start like WELCOME. Covr makes codes like WELCOME-7KQ2M9XD and sets each one to work once.

Put the code in your email
In Klaviyo, one tag in the email gives every person their own code.
A code that works once
A code posted on a coupon site stops at its first use, and every code still follows the discount's rules.
Never runs out
Covr checks Klaviyo every 10 minutes and adds codes before they run low. A flow that runs out of codes skips the email without telling you.
Sales from each email
The app shows how many codes were used and the sales they brought in, counted from your paid orders.
